Visiting the Area Dalsland – where nature is at its best Dalsland is a pleasant piece of land, which offers visitors wonderful experiences of various kinds. Here you are in the middle of nature, close to water, forest and countryside. You can take a trip on Dalsland canal from lake Vänern to the Norwegian boarder, 250 kilometres where 10 kilometres are man-made and the rest is nature-made. The heritage sites get more beautiful with age. You can trace your ancestors and learn more about their lives when visiting local history museums, old churches and works and learn what has become of these historic sites today. Some are used in new and different ways. When you get hungry, you can visit the many high class restaurants in the countryside or go on a Food Rally to local food producers. When you want action there are lots of guided opportunities, hiking in the forest, outdoor cooking, golf, mountain climbing, meditation, spa, art exhibitions.
